Each day starts with animal interaction in our petting pen, bottle feeding and lessons about the animals the students interact with at camp each day. Students will learn about animal husbandry, nutrition, digestive systems, bone structures, anatomy, how animals see. The history of animal uses and more! 2-3 days a week include horse lessons.

The following is a tentative schedule. While we generally follow the activities in this order there are days that weather causes a change in our plans. Some activites require dry weather for the animals heallth and well being.
  • Monday and Tuesday Archeology and Minerals. Identify Minerals that are specific to Alaska and go on an archeology dig. Take what you have learned about bones in previous lessons and put it to the test on your dig.
  • Wednesday: Chemestry on the Farm. milking goats or cows and making lotion, nature walk, history of writing, acids and bases, digestive systems
  • Thursday and Friday: Fibers on the Farm. Compare fibers and thier uses, synthetic, animal and plant. Sheer a sheep and make wool projects.

All these lessons have a science activity to support the lesson using microscopes, observation methods and other learning tools. All lessons and actvities are structured to be hands on outdoor fun activities that feel more like play than learning. Kids are encouraged to be curious.

Our summer camp is closed on weekends. We are open Monday-Friday 9:30am-2:30pm by phone. Camp is physically open to campers only during posted camp sessions see above dates. While we understand that we now live in an instant contact and social media directed atmosphere we ask that you be patient and understanding with our teachers and staff members and please remember that they too have families and lives away from work just as you do. Most of the time we can respond to text messages, facebook messages and calls on the weekends and after hours but that is not always the case. Thanks so much for being kind and gracious and understanding that we are people too.

Payment Policy. **Please only make your selection when you are ready. Due to the limited space in each camp week we can not offer refunds once you have purchased your week at camp. We ask families to be honest and ethical and understand that once you have chosen to attend camp we are relying on that income to feed our family of both people and critters. If you are unsure about attending camp please make your other scheduling arrangements first before scheduling with us.
COVID : We have modeled our covid response and policy after the matsu School District. In the event that your camp week must close due to a covid related restriction or exposure all safety protocols and notifications will be followed. Your tuition will be applied to the next safe and available camp date that meets your schedule. Or you can apply the tuition to any of our party packages.

** If some one else is supposed to pay for your 2 hour session with us or your full week please check with them before you choose to pay. If we recieve 2 payments for the same camper we will refund the second payee minus the credit card processing fees. For a full week of camp this is roughly $15 and for a 2 hour session this is about $3.
